WHY WE CHOOSE INDIAN REMY HUMAN HAIR

The benefits of choosing Remy human hair.  Remy  is value as high quality premium hair in the hair industry.   This type of hair is made of human hair just like many other kind of hair, however,  this type of hair  has the cuticle intact.    Extra care is done to insure that the hair is facing in the same direction.   This will prevent matting and tangling so the hair will remain luxurious and supple.   This hair can be colored,  permed,  and strengthen,  unlike synthetic or human hair mix that can not hold up to higher heat.    This hair also holds up to the temperature and exposing sun and still remain natural looking.     There are two type of Remy hair,  Virgin Remy  hair is sourced from donor who have never dyed their or straighten or permed it.   Remy hair is still high quality hair but has been dyed , straighten, and permed at some point.   The benefit is that this is authentic human hair which blends well with your natural hair.  This hair  is also stronger and will last over time,  because it can withstand elevated heat just like your natural hair.  This is the best hair for us from experience and this is why we choose Indian Virgin Human hair.   At Shawzae Wig Boutique  now you can create your own full lace custom wig by giving us the color, texture, length,  oh and the size of your head. We will create your new custom lace wig.  www.shawzaecwigs.com.

SHAWZAE ON PRODUCT KNOWLEDGE

I am so excited to share this blog with you,  because products knowledge is important to all of us.  There are all kinds of product out there to use,  but how do we determine what will work for some clients and not for others.   Products are the key to success,  it takes the work out of your services so that you can obtain what you want,  without the labor.   There are a few ways that you can determine what products  works for you salon.  You may have heard the old saying,  you can't use the same perm on everyone head,  which is true.   Products are determine by the service you offer,  so if you have the same similar clients,  with the same hair texture, and similar hair issues,  then you probably would not have to purchase too many different products.    However, if you have a mixture of clients then you will have to purchase a lot of different products,  to meet your clients needs.   The way I purchase products is based on products that meets most natural hair textures.    A stylist should know how to care for all hair textures.   When purchasing products,  know what it will do to all textures,  so if you do get a new client,  you can feel comfortable knowing that you got products for that clients as well.   A few years back,  I had a client that walked in for hair services,  and I was taken back because I didn't feel like I had products that were right for her hair texture.   I consulted with the client for what she wanted,  evaluated her hair and texture,  then book her for an appointment for another time so I could get what I needed for her.   She became a regular client,  and that taught me how important product knowledge is for all hair texture.   You just need to know that the products,  or brands that you use can benefit all textures you will be servicing.

COFFEE TALK ON TAPE HAIR EXTENSIONS

Ladies you will be able to see coffee talk on my YouTube,  if you don't read it here,  see it on YouTube.   Tape ins are one of the services in our salon,  and I personally love them.   I wear them, and actually they are easy for me to take out.  Ladies, lets get started.

I have been trying to get the black ladies to wear tape extensions for a while,  because they offer no damage and just as easy to care for as a sew in.   Tape ins are trending now,  even among the black ladies,  so I felt this was a good time to start the conversation.

Tonya,  I don't think women, mainly black women feel that tape extensions are secured enough for them,   like the sew ins are.

Me,  That is actually correct,  for one thing black ladies put oils into the hair,  because a lot of times, we have dry hair,  and we need to keep some oils in hair to keep it moisturized.   I am told by a lot of my white clients that there hair is oily,  and that is why they  wash their more often is to keep the oils out of their hair.   However,  all ladies can enjoy tape extensions,   If the tape extensions are installed properly and the client follow instructions on the care of the extensions,  they will have no problem.

Nellie,  How can black ladies wear the tape extensions without loosing  them.

Me,  I am glad you asked that question.  All ladies have to prepare their hair for tape extensions or any extensions so that they look natural and flawless.   Once the hair is prepared,  then the tape extensions are installed.  Tape extensions has an adhesive that will connect to the hair,  and there are tools that can press the extensions onto the hair,  and you can also apply a little heat.   Once the extensions are properly installed,  the hair is connected to the tape so it won't come loose.  When you wash and shampoo your hair,  use a sulfate free shampoo and conditioner so that you don't get too much oil into the hair.  Make sure when you use oil sheen and hair spray,  don't use a lot near the connectors which is the tape.  To oil your scalp,  just use your finger tip and put a little oil to the scalp only,  you will not loose the tape extensions.

Jen,  How long do they last?

Me,   You should have your tape extensions reinstalled every 6 to 8 weeks,  just like a sew in.  Human hair tape extensions will last for years with proper care, and they will be reusable for the life of the hair.  Human hair blend will be reusable for up to 6 months,  which means you will get at least 3 installs out of the hair, and synthetic a lot less time..

I hope that information has helped you,  and check out my shop at http://www.etsy.com/shop/shawzaeboutique  or our website at www.shawzae.com for more information on hair

COFFEE TALK ( THINNING AND ALOPECIA HAIR )

This conversation isn't new and you may have heard some of the information  before,  but we do want to keep the conversation going to help you stay updated.  We have so many women and men with this problem that we have to keep the conversation going.    Thinning and aloppecia  hair isn't a age thing,  because we have a lot of young women and men with this problem.

The conversation starts:  These are some of the conversations that I have had with some of my clients and friends,  so lets get the conversation started.

My hair started thinning when I started getting relaxers.........Sarah

The relaxers were probably too strong for your hair, and you should avoid having your hair relaxed until you know for sure if that is the cause of your hair loss.  I would recommend you start going to a natural hair salon so that you can get your hair healthy again,  let whoever you go know what happened, give them your hair story...........me

My hair is fine,  I guess I was born with it,  bad hair,  and it won't grow.......Mindy

When born with fine hair,  it is very important that you take special care of your hair to keep it healthy.  You should not put heavy products in your hair,  or extensions that will weigh your hair down.  If you would like longer hair,  or maybe get hair color,  get a custom wigs,  because this is not going to damage your natural hair., and also make sure you get healthy products for your natural hair.
Your hair thinning may be hereditary  but it can be healthy even if it's thin or fine ........me

My hair was taken out by a stylist,  and it's never been the same after the service....Tina

The stylist probably didst understand your hair,  and the products were probably too strong,  however,  you can get healthy hair again.   When you go to get your hair done make sure you give the stylist your hair story so that she can get a picture of the health of your hair.   A consultation and hair analysis is important......me

Join in the conversation and let talk about hair while we sip our coffee.

NATURAL HAIR CARE FOR 2017

Natural hair has always been my priority.  We have tremendous respect for the ladies that have gone natural over the past years.   I always say it doesn't matter what you wear wigs or extensions always take care of your natural hair.   Here are some tips on getting started on natural hair care,  it is nothing new,  however,  if you haven't been doing it,  this is a good time to start.

1   Always shampoo and keep your natural hair clean,  moisturize and trim,  this will help your hair growth.

2   Condition your hair in between shampooing so that your hair is getting the moisturizer it needs to grow.

3  Research the right products for your hair,  you may not believe it,  but products make a big different in hair care.  Some products take the labor out of hair care.

4   Pamper yourself and your hair by just taking a day for you and your hair. It will allow you to do extra things that you wouldn't normally do in your hair care maintenance.

Shawzae will be opening its hair braiding school soon.  We will be discussing hair care,  and signature treatments and more.  We will also be teaching you to braid hair safely.   There are two things that I see a lot of in hair braiders,  especially the ones that can braid,  I see that they braid the clients hair too tight,  and they don't stress the time frame for keeping braids in the hair.    We want to get away from those things and offer to the clients a high end hair braiding salons with lots of bells and whistle.  The most important of all is customer service and quality care.   You will learn all of this at Shawzae.

HOW TO EDUCATE YOUR CLIENTS ON NATURAL HAIR CARE: SUBJECT VIXEN SEWIN OR VERTICAL SEWIN

We are so bless to have hair of every texture,  and I personally love our natural hair on all females,  so it's no wonder I want you to take care of it,  and I want to help you.  When clients come to you for a sewin, and they have no edges or thin edges, it is our responsibility to educate then on what works and don't work.   We want to take care of those edges,  by educating the client that the style may not be appropriate for her edges,  and you can suggest the vixen or vertical sewin that will elevate pressure on her edges.   The vixen or vertical sewin will allow you to leave hair out,  and doing so it takes the pressure off the weak area  and put it in the stronger area.  The vixen or vertical sewin look very natural,  and it will allow the clients to continue taking care of their edges.   You can suggest products to your clients such as the edge control to keep the edges flat so that your client will have a flawless look.   We will be teaching vixen sewin which is also known as the vertical sewin to our students at Shawzae.    This is a natural hair care tip to prevent more damages to thin edges or to protect someone with no edges.   Educating your clients is very important in the hair business,  and it's something that we all have to do to stop damaging natural hair.   Vixen or vertical sew in can be done on short hair as well.  Let's learn to love natural hair.

Natural Hair Care and Custom Wigs For The Fall Season

Fall and winter can be brutal to our natural hair,  creating dryness,  brittleness and thinning which will cause hair loss.   We also have some trending custom style wigs for the fall.   These custom wigs can help relieve tension on the natural hair.  I read a few days ago wigs are becoming the new extensions.  A lot of ladies are wearing wig now to relieve stress on their natural hair.  Here are some tips to caring for the natural hair,   because our skin gets so dry in the fall and winter,  the main thing to do with natural hair is to keep it clean and moist.   Jojoba oil is a powerful  remedy that has been used for hundreds of years, it has a powerful effect on hair growth.   Saw Palmetto is known to block  formation of dihydrotesterone which kills hormone that kill hair follicles.  Rosemary  with almond  or coconut oil is a great health provider for natural hair and scalp.  Eumi oil is another oil that is highly recommended  for the natural hair and scalp.   Remember the best way to take care of natural hair is to keep it clean and scalp moisturize.  For constant styles and color changes,  you may want to wear a custom wig to relieve the stress off the natural hair.

NEW MOBILE SERVICE AT SHAWZAE

I am so excited about this new mobile service.  My decision to do a mobile service is based on several clients that inspired me.  I want to give this service to the ladies whom can't travel out, and for those who want a boutique and personal service.    There are a lot of complaints about the salons, and there services, so this is a great time to make a move on a mobile service.  People want to get away from salons that are noisy  and unprofessional at least that's what I am told.  I would recommend this service to all salons,  because it's also a way to expand your brand and services to different counties in your area without the overhead,  it's the prefect solution.   There are a couple of things that you will want to resolve before you start the mobile service,  and that's the distant you will cover,  and payment for services.   I recommend that you get a percentage of the payment for the services while booking the appointment,  because it ensures the commitment on both parties.  I also suggest that you make sure you can cover the locations by getting  a address to each client to make sure they are not two far out.   I am really excited about this new chapter.   We will be offering the service in North Carolina and Virginia.

For more information on this new mobile service email me at emurray310@gmail.com

THE BEST MOISTURIZERS FOR NATURAL HAIR

Ladies, regardless of the hair texture all hair need moisturizers unless you have an oily scalp.   A lot of women have dry hair,  including some men,  and could benefit from a great hair moisturizer.  I heard a lot of women,  even men complain about dull and dry hair.  If you have 4C hair,  it's especially  true because if you have kinker hair ( tightly coiled )   it is drier.  There are other ethnic  groups that have kinky hair other than Black Americans,  so this is why I say all hair texture.  When your hair is kinky or has kinks it is harder for your scalp natural oil to travel  down to the strands.   There are people with straight hair that has a dry scalp.  The hair patterns can help explain  why your hair has a very low shine.  When the hair is properly moisturize the hair is healthy.   There are  several great products on the market,  one thing you want to remember is the oils which are good sealant.  (1) Shea products,   (2) Olive oil products (3) Coconut oils products and (4)  Macadamia oil products because these are all natural oils and keep skin and hair moisturize.  I created a serum for the hair with coconut and olive oil mixed with Rosemary.   Rosemary is great for the hair in keeping it healthy,  so it makes for a great product.  You can mix and make your own natural moisturizer for your hair as I did.  Learn to love your natural hair.

THE BENEFIT OF PROPER HEAT FOR NATURAL HAIR

Ladies,  we know that heat can damage our hair,  but did you know with the proper heat it can be beneficial.  I will say 250 to 350,  but it really depend on your hair texture and if it's has chemical in the hair.  The heat from a hooded dryer or steamer can benefit deep conditioner.   A plastic cap and hot towel can also benefit a deep conditioner.   The natural hair can benefit from heat before braids and extensions.  Heat help prevent matting and a lot of tangles.  When using the proper heat in your hair,  you will get to do more styles,  and they last longer.  Lean to love your natural hair and take care of it.   There all kinds of organic products that are great for the natural hair.

HOW I RESTORED MY OLD WIG

I know that some of you ladies can relate when you have a favorite wig.   I love this wig and it's texture is like my natural hair, so I didn't want to get rid of it not just yet.   I apply our restoration service to my old wig and bought  it back to life.   This wig look amazing and smells so good,  so it makes changing  wigs more fun.   You can restore your old wig just as I did,  even if you don't have the products that I do.

Here are the process for restoration:

Inspect your wig first for any lose extensions,  then secure them.
Comb your wig well removing all tangles
Shampoo your wig allowing it to soak for about 15 minutes
I used a clarifying shampoo to remove all products from  the hair before shampooing
Make sure all the shampoo is out of the hair.
Condition your wig allow 5 or 6 minutes for the condition to sit
Make sure you rinse the hair well
Let drip dry
Comb your wig again thoroughly  removing any tangles
Apply a light oil before flat ironing,  I flat iron the whole wig before going back in
with the curing iron to style the wig.

All customers wigs get recapped,  I did not recap my wig  because I will be using the elastic band method to secure.   I hope this will help you in bring you old wig back to life.

THE MAKING AND CREATING OF CUSTOM WIGS

This is a fabulous time for you to learn to make custom wigs for yourself or a friend.  We have so many custom wig designers out there that do such a great job in making wigs.  The fact that we do have so many wig designers,  how do you know who to go to,  or what set the designers apart.  Most designers know how to color, cut and style their wigs,  it's about making your signature.   I will also
be improving on my signature touches by offering more color,  and cuts on my designers wigs.  It is really an important part of making custom wigs,  because most of the time when you order your human hair,  they usually have two colors 1B or natural which is black,  which is not the color you are looking for at the time.  We are stepping it up ladies for you,  because custom wigs are trending,  and not going anywhere so stay tuned in.

I will be giving Beverly,  my new custom wig an overhaul cutting her down to a 10 inch bob.  I really have a ache in heart for doing this,  but I believe she will be more beautiful and stylish shorter.
